Installation Guide

Prerequisites

  • Windows 11 operating system
  • Python 3.8 or higher
  • Internet connection
  • Administrator privileges

Step 1: Download the Project

Download the project files and extract them to a folder on your computer.

Step 2: Run the Installation Script

Navigate to the scripts folder and double-click on install.bat.

This will:

  • Create a Python virtual environment
  • Install all required dependencies
  • Set up environment variables

Step 3: Configure API Key (Optional)

If you have an API key from data.gov.hk, you can add it to the config/.env file for access to real-time data.

Step 4: Launch the Application

Double-click on start.bat in the scripts folder to launch the application.

A browser window will automatically open with the platform interface.
